Power BI Dashboards.

Why does it take us two weeks to find out how last month went?

Executive reporting that makes performance visible.

The dashboards that actually get used are the ones showing finance and workforce measures on the same page. That is harder than it sounds, because the two datasets rarely reconcile without a fight. Winning that fight is most of the job.

Sound familiar?

You'll recognise this if

  • Month-end reporting is a manual spreadsheet exercise every single month
  • By the time the board pack lands, the numbers have moved
  • Different functions bring different figures for the same measure
  • You bought Power BI licences and nothing much happened
  • Reports show what happened but never why

FAQ

Questions we get asked

How long does it take to build an executive dashboard?

A first working executive dashboard usually takes three to five weeks. Most of that goes on data modelling and getting everyone to agree what each measure means. The visual layer is the quick part, and the part clients most often assume is the whole job.

Do we need Power BI licences?

You need Power BI Pro licences for the people who will read published reports. We can prototype without them, and we will tell you the minimum that works before you buy anything.

Our data is messy. Is it too early for dashboards?

Usually not, though it changes the order of work. Where quality is poor we build against a cleaned extract first and fix the source alongside it. Waiting for perfect data is the most common reason reporting projects never start at all.

Can you connect payroll and finance data in the same report?

Yes, and it is the thing we are asked for most. Joining payroll to the general ledger is where labour-cost reporting starts being useful, and it is the part most reporting projects skip, because the reconciliation is fiddly.

What happens after handover?

You own the workspace, the model and the documentation. We build so your team, or any consultant who follows us, can extend the reports without unpicking what we did.
